Hi, I’m Adrianna
I am a qualified, experienced humanistic counsellor. While I have worked with a range of emotional challenges and experiences, I have a particular interest in anxiety, early relational trauma, and difficulties with self-esteem/self-worth.
Though I’m now based in London, I am originally from Vermont, and from my lived experience also bring an interest in multicultural identity and immigrant life.
In addition to my counselling work, I am a qualified, experienced yoga and Pilates teacher. From this part of my life, I bring a holistic understanding of mind, body, movement and health into my approach to therapy.
My first aim when we meet is for you to feel understood, supported and welcomed. Initially, we will explore your reasons for seeking therapy, how we might work together and what a successful therapy outcome might look like for you.
Ethical and non-discriminatory practice is central to my approach: I am a neuro-affirmative and LGBTQ+ affirmative therapist. I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their code of ethics.
My Training and Experience.
I have worked in the private sector, in community mental health care clinics and in the NHS.
Presently, I am in my final year of study for a masters in humanistic psychotherapy. I am also currently undertaking additional training within the NHS in cognitive analytic therapy (CAT), which is designed to support individuals with complex or enduring mental health care needs.
Both my counselling diploma and my masters are with the Metanoia Institute, which is regarded as one of the leading counselling and psychotherapy training institutions in the UK.
